The Old Waterworks

Somerset - Residential - On Site

Situated adjacent to Lytes Cary Manor, The Old Waterworks is an defunct Victorian water treatment facility. Our client has a holistic vision for the site which will see them dramatically overhaul the sites ecology and biodiversity which is currently sparse.

The project will see the creation of a wetland as well as extensive planting and landscaping. Our brief was to create a functional storage shed without compromising on beauty, with a desire for the building to be of its landscape. A timber clad structure was proposed, with a monopitched extensively planted roof masking the built form below when viewed from the surrounding landscape.
